Receiving a letter from the IRS about an issue with your taxes can be very alarming. When a federal agency like the IRS threatens action against you, whether through heavy fines or jail time, you have a right to counsel no matter your financial limitations.
From audits, to appeals, tax collection matters, and litigation, we’ve represented individuals through it all. Using our expertise, the LITC works to ensure fairness and integrity in our tax system, helping all taxpayers, including you, navigate these complicated matters.
Operating through Summit Legal Aid, the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic is stronger than ever when it comes to helping individuals navigate their tax disputes with the IRS. The clinic supports clients with free legal consultations and legal representation in court. The LITC also assists with education and outreach to those who speak English as a second language (ESL).
